One among the thousand things that makes me happy to be a teacher is having a long holiday.. :p
It's true.. just asking other employee and they will tell you the same thing that only teachers can enjoy a long holiday.
Not wanting to waste my time, I decided to enjoy this very special time. This holiday is very special because it was quite long as we celebrated Lebaran and it was at the same time with the independence day of Indonesia. So, guess what I did? yeah I had so much fun with my friends and did many things..
here are some pictures of my activities during the holiday;
1. Independence Day's Celebration at Noelbaki
we grouped the kids into the games; sack jumping and coin picking inside the flour
sack jumping round 1 is ready...
these three boys are going to pick the coin in a plate full of flour
sack jumping participants...
they all wanted to answer the question about Independence day
Sharing about Having Friendship with GOD
FN, Abe and I
His name is Simon. I charged him to be the captain of his group to remind his friends of memorizing the gold verse John 3:16 on the group split.
Seeking coins in a bowl of flour
2. One Day Hanging Out to Soe at Oehala Waterfall
Girls on Oehala waterfall
The Oehala waterfall. The word Oehala derives from Meto Language. Oe means water, Hala means bed, so Oehala means waterbed.. lol
we pose together before leaving the waterfall..
3. Bible Discussion--> Make Me A Servant with Sunday School teachers at Tablolong beach
Fellowship and bible sharing about being a servant or being a sunday school teacher
now beach time.... yay!!!
ready to go back home
On the way home we passed through a new housing development in Jalur 40.
Today the Christians all over the world celebrate the most important day of our faith story ever after. Why i say it’s the most important day? Coz i cannot imagine if Christ did not substitute me and you, we can surely know where we’re going today.. “ETERNAL DEATH” i can say it for sure... Praise God MY LORD did it for me, for you and all of us not when we know HIM yet when we were in the darkness..when we were still captivated by this world, HE came and sacrificed HIS LIFE just to set me and you free. So, in this remarkable day i wanna share a little bit what i’ve learnt during the 7 weeks of passion until today. The great lessons i learn are from the 7 words of Jesus on the cross and the greatest redemption He did on the cross. The seven words on the cross I would never ever imagine if i were in Christ position, hanging on the cross, tortured, got mocked by the rulers, what would be the best words i say if i were hanging on the cross? I know for sure, cursing... however The...
I recall a definition on teaching from my professor. It says “teaching is to let your student learn”. It’s been such a blessing to realize that i’m already in the field where I always have access to make my student learn. I don't know for sure but the fact is that i really enjoy the moment i spend with my students.teaching them, laughing with them, listening to their stories, trying to fulfill their curiosity, and all activities with them make me alive. Not only these interesting moments but also whenever they seem to be annoying because they are busy with their activities and do not pay attention to my explanation, i can still feel excited. Sometimes i get angry with them but when i think of my childhood and realize that i ever went through that moment, i’ll laugh at myself and say “this is what ever you did”... :) I have a nice experience with one of my students. She goes to primary school grade one. She is 7 years old. She just celebrated her birthday last week....
I am so excited today!!!! Fiuh .....i just had my first class lecturing English for the students of elementary teacher education this morning . I was kinda nervous thinking about what might be in the class..thank God it was exciting! Getting into this new atmosphere reminds me of the word of God i learnt from Psalm 127:2 “it is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, the eat the bread of sorrows; For so HE gives HIS beloved sleep” I’ve been unemployed for almost 6 months. Having no activities in the morning makes me wake up late everyday. But it’s not what i wanna share (it’s just a confession of my laziness... :D). 6 months waiting for a morning activity made me almost weary till i decided to “let the wind blows” or surrender. It just happened to me this week after 13 days ago reading this psalm. Psalm 127 is the song of Salomon and the phrase that makes me calm is saying “For HE gives HIS beloved sleep”. Yes, today i know that HE truly gives His beloved sleep. Wha...
