Harmony- A Story Behind The Bars of Prison

How often do you cry just because of a movie?

If you rarely cry or get touched by a movie, I suggest you to watch "Harmony" a Korean heart-touching movie.

This movie is truly heart-melting. I know I am always easily touched by something but not often cry for anything. But this movie has made my heart melt.

I love ;
  • the secrets why these -fragile but strong inside-women get into the prison. They all come with their own stories that they just keep for themselves. Their tears, happiness, sorrows and love are locked in their deepest hearts. yup, Secrets make a woman a woman, quoted from 'Detective Conan'.
  • how each inmate (the main characters) reveals her love to each other, how they take care and keep one another. Mutual problems can be such a strong bond!
  • how they sing.... it makes me strongly realize that happiness doesn't depend on your circumstances but from your heart, the way you see life, so even in a prison you can still sing joyfully.
  • to know the life of female prisoners. They struggle more than we've ever known.
  • to see how a mother struggles for her son /children. No love can be compared to a mother's love!
 I burst into tears when watching this scene; the most favorite scene from this movie!
I just can't help crying when I see this scene. After waiting for years, her hope to see her son comes true and it's on the day when everyone's looking forward... Christmas!!!

I learn;
  • that many times we judge people by their past and suspect those who ever committed crime as though they would never change.
  • that at some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life-quote. I know it's not easy for Hong Jeong-hye to let her son be adopted by other parent but that's the part of consequences she has to take to be both an orphan and a prisoner.
  • to accept my mom as the way she is. To be proud of having her regardless of her weakness as a human being. This movie will make you love your mom more than you've done before.
  • to let everything be as it has to be. When the day of death penalty for Kim Moon-ok comes, she has to face it, no turning back. Face it bravely as the final day of all her journey.
  • that every man has her own sorrow that cannot be compared to others. So whenever you feel like you're the only burdened person in this world, open your eyes and see that many people struggle for the same thing. We have to bear our own cross that's been allotted to us.
And finally, don't forget prepare a lot of tissues if you wanna watch this movie and be prepared for swollen eyes :)

Enjoy watching!
