the simple thing i found yersterday
I went to traditional market yesterday to find some vegetables and "tempe". i was quite irritated by the small plastic bag when suddenly a little kid came and offered me a red plastic bag (much bigger than the one i was holding). i finally realized that the kid was one of my Sunday school kids at church. in short, i bought the plastic bag from him. when i was on the way home i remembered the last topic we taught in Sunday school and it was about "Characteristic of Christian family". we taught them to be responsible with their family, to help their parents and do all things they can such as helping their parents at home. what I've found from this very little kid who is supposed to spend his holiday with friends, playing and doing things he likes is truly touching! Instead of playing, he was in the market, selling plastic bag. then i compare myself with him and found that i was doing nothing to help my mom when i was child. this kid has done more than all the theories we taught.
Sometimes it seems unfair when we see this kind of reality. But, this is life. We might think that this little kid should be at home, spending his holiday with friends, but in fact, he and the other kids are working. There are many kids like them, struggling for life at early age without gurgling and mumbling. Whenever i see them i feel ashamed of myself. They seem really enjoy their work though life would be so unfair. They don't feel shy doing that work, selling plastic bag. They don't think hard about tomorrow but will be so grateful for what they get today. I love knowing this fact. It's all about struggle and i wish to have their passion. This little kid has taught me to struggle, to never give up on life and to be grateful for everything.. :)
maybe his parents' income was not enough to support them everyday- so he was helping.. don't feel bad for yourself.. :/
BalasHapusyes..probably it's the main reason..
BalasHapusi feel kinda embarrassed coz he can help his parents though he's still child while sometimes i'm too lazy to help my mom cook or clean the house :)
