The Newest Chapter of Life

Gambar
This post is finally breaking the ice. I feel like having ignored this space for ages. Now I make a new commitment to take more time on writing my life journal here in this blog.  Many things have happened during the silence and absence on this page. I have to start a new page of the chapter in my life. The new chapter is all about how Covid-19 has surely changed everything; study plan and the way I see death.  I started 2021 with a big hope that I could fly overseas and commenced my study in ANU on February 2021. Yet, reality was not as beautiful as the future plan I made on LPDP Life Grandmap. After getting the scholarhip, I went through several preparations on my study. IELTS preparation, official IELTS test, and university application went perfectly smooth as planned. Even the complicated study permission from my institution went quite well despite the fact that I had to go through level by level procedures. all was OK. However, the pandemic was getting worse, resulting in...

A random story of a life time

Gambar
I am thinking about writing something today. I should admit that I've been too lazy to write since I was starting my new job. I let my diary unwritten, empty and lonesome. If they were animate, they would be crying for being lonely. So, here I tell my apology to all my empty sheets of diary and of course the spaces on my blog. sorry for being so harsh and ignorant lately.. What I'm gonna share today is all related to the future. First, it's about my scholarship application that almost made me upset and the second one is about our 'coming soon' wedding day. The two topics sound quite serious, right?! yup.. as I've never been playing around with my life. Scholarship was closely reachable this year.. yes, that's what I was thinking early, yet it's not that easy to grab. I should keep my application saved as a draft until next year. You'll never imagine how hard I was working on my application, stealing some minutes on my hectic working days. I was s...

Early Christmas Present; Experiencing Melbourne (Part 1)

Gambar
Happy Christmas everyone! How's your preparation for Christmas? I'm sure all of you have been so busy preparing all Christmas stuff such as cookies, christmas tress, decoration of red, green and gold, and so on. Yeah, Christmas is always like that as it happens once in a year so it deserves our greatest attention. Talking about Christmas, I've got a story to share today. It's about my early Christmas present from santa to touch down Kangaroo country, particularly Melbourne, the most liveable city on earth (that's what people say about Melb). I should tell you that my preparation to visit this country was like playing gambling. Yes, gambling, because I've booked the tickets before knowing the schedule of my 'Prajabatan" training (a requirement for civil servant in Indonesia before getting their full position in government sectors). So you can imagine how I prayed day and night asking God to have mercy on me.. well, I was like a little kid asking her dad...

Pelatihan Komputer Kemendikbud

Gambar
Belajar memang berlangsung sepanjang masa.

A New Perspective

Gambar
Life will lead you to the unexpected ways.. I am coming back to Jedidiah after leaving it untouched for a few months. I should confess that my new work has stolen all my time and attention. Have I told you that I am not teaching anymore?! Yes, I have started my new world, leaving the classroom that has given me plenty lessons and getting trapped into the world of language research. Maybe it's not new anymore.. It's just like I am coming back to my old world. Well, in short, the news is I am coming back to language research. My new job gave me many opportunities to deepen my knowledge on linguistics, the major I've fallen for. One of those opportunities was attending a training for language researcher, and that's what I am going to share here. Yes, last week I went to Jakarta for the training called " Peningkatan Kompetensi Peneliti Tahap II" held in Santika Hotel, Taman Mini. I was excited but nervous at the first time as I have not got my reseacher cert...

Fulbright Notification

Gambar
After waiting quite long for my Fulbright notification, I finally got an email from the committee. I know I didn't make it since July 2013 when accidentally reading one of the successful candidate's status on Facebook. He is my Senior High school friend. So, it is not a surprise anymore when I read this email; Dear Ms. Haniva Yunita Leo, A preliminary review of your recent application for the 2014 Fulbright Ph.D Program has been now made by a panel of Indonesian and American representatives on behalf of the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation. We regret to inform you that the panel is unable to include your application among those selected for further consideration. Your interest in the 2014 Fulbright Ph.D Program is greatly appreciated, and we wish you every success in your future endeavors. We would encourage you to reapply next year, if you are still interested in participating in this program. Best wishes, Indonesian Fulbright Program Team American Indonesian Exchange...

what makes a family family

Gambar
Family-- There is a little fighting, a little arguing but a close bond of love always negates everything.  Terkadang saya perlu mengingatkan diri sendiri betapa bersyukurnya saya memiliki mereka berdua. Jadi tiap kali saya merasa tersakiti dengan kata-kata 'pedas' yang meremukan hati, saya hanya perlu berhenti sejenak dan bersyukur bahwa saya masih bisa dimarahi... :p Sorry for causing you too much trouble, sista!!! still love you and always :)

25th Birthday

Gambar
Bali, 28 June 2013 Birthday... When people celebrate the repetition of their born day there must be some things they are thinking of; what they have done over the year just passed by, what they'll do (wishes) and then like an alarm ringing, they are reminded of growing older and older.. lol. What I am thinking right now is seeing the fact that I am getting older, a quarter century.. 25 years old. Hey time, where are you flying, dude?? what the hell have I done with my years of life??? are those things just trash?? Eventually there are so many random things to contemplate. But the very crazy thing is that I am not at home on my birthday!!! I did a different thing to celebrate my birthday this year. For the first time in my life I celebrate my birthday far away from home. Yup, my 25th anniversary is in Bali. It's kinda weird when I stayed awake till 12 p.m last night and realized that I wasn't in my room with my comfy bed. The air is still the same but the soul is dif...

My Life in the Last Two Months

Gambar
I finally break the silence!! yay.. My life has been quite hectic and that's why I feel so sorry for having ignored "Jedidiah" for almost 2 months. sorry... :( How's everybody doing? Once I logged in to dashboard and looked down on the list of updates I know that I have missed so many stories from everyone who loves to share their life in this cyber world. I hope I could have plenty of time, sitting down to write the things I have left unwritten but it is not enough so I just share in brief all the things happened in the last two months of my life. 1. The First Selection of Bina Antar Budaya Chapter Bali in Kupang It was such an unforgettable moment coz for the first time this student exchange program was held in Kupang. As Kupang has not been a chapter, we were a little bit difficult to get our students join this program. But thank God, the committee from Bali was willing to help us. Miss Grace Harris, our Fulbright English teaching Assistant had done so much ef...

International Women's Day

Gambar
Happy International Women's Day!!! photo source: google search I don't know that we (read: women) have a special day to celebrate... almost forget or maybe have never known till I got a text from 'him'. Thank to Mr. YMT for reminding me of my day! So, lets talk a little bit about this day.. I am not sure all women realize that it is their day coz women always have everyday (Monday to Sunday), working 24 hours (even more) and sometimes do not have time to think for themselves (they always put their family in the first list). Yet, every thing has its own story, so does this day that we call "International Women's day". After googling and finding its history in Wikipedia  I try to understand what was behind this day. It started in the United States  on 28 February 1909, when women were struggling for their right of equality. At that time, women didn't have chance to vote or had no right to participate in politics. Not only in politics, there wa...

What's Special in Saying Goodbye to 2012 and Welcoming 2013?!

Gambar
Nothing stays the same... that's finally what I learned so far when I was about to leave 2012 and entered 2013. Many things happened, creating its own story in 2012 and bringing my questions about life come nearly to the answers. Well, life must go on.. what has stayed in the past will always be there but we, we are walking and never going back. yeah, and before all things went over without any foot prints left, I would like to keep some best part here. Lets see... 1. Christmas We had a totally different Christmas in 2012 with Santa picking all the presents for Jesus from our Sunday school kids houses.
