It’s just another great movie that I watched last week... this movie is really touching.. I believe you’ll cry a lot after watching and learn something about life from this movie..

With background of Hindi family, taking place in Sydney Australia, this worth seeing movie starts its story..

It’s not the story of a complete family but a divorced family living in a harmony.. Aman (the handsome Arjun Rampal) and Maya (Kajool-Anjali Sharma in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) have already divorced. They live their broken family by keeping their love for their three children; Alya (the little Anjali in KKHH) , Ankush and Anjali. They try to make it ballance by taking care of their kids regularly. The kids live with their mom but every weekend they go to their dad’s home.

Aman has got a girlfriend. He’s been with the girl for three years and is going to marry her. Before making his plan come true, he wants the girl, Sreya (Kareena Kapoor) to meet his kids. So when the cute Anjali celebrates her birthday, he comes with Sreya. However, the first meeting doesnt leave a good impression coz Sreya accidentally slips and drops down Anjali’s birthday cake. It makes this little princess mad. The worst is when Alya knows that the girl coming with her dad is their father’s girlfirend. In short there’s a word-quarrel between them that ends with Sreya’s uncontrolled word which is responded angerly by Maya, the kid’s mom. The kids start hating Sreya and call her ‘the wicked witch’.

Unfortunately, that’s not the end of the meeting coz the destiny makes them meet again. Aman has a schedule to get the kids home on weekend but he isn’t able to do it coz there’s a jod outside the town. He calls Sreya to help him pick up the kids and bring them home. The kids are very surprised knowing that they have to stay with Sreya at their father’s house. They try to call their mom but her mobile isn’t on. They start making a mess with Sreya.

Although they say they dont like Sreya, they cant stand hating her bacause of Sreya’s sincerity. The little Anjali is the first one opening her heart to like Sreya. She helps Sreya in fashion competition by giving her mom’s brooch to Sreya so that her model’s dress (sari) could fit to her. Sreya finally wins the competition and hangs out with the kids to celebrate it. She promises the little Anjali that she will buy her diamond crown as a present for what she’s done. Start from that moment the call name to sreya is changed with ‘D’, not the wicked witch.

Nevertheless, once again, Sreya’s sincerity has to end up with a new problem. Little Anjali is lost and Maya blames Sreya for that loss. The cob find Anjali but because of that accident Maya warns Aman not ever letting Sreya to pick up the kids if he cant pick them. Aman agrees and promises that he will never let Sreya get involve in their family’s business. This little accident also messes up his relationship with Sreya.

Maya and the kids live as usual. They live happily till one day, after having a check out of her health, Maya has to find a fact that she suffers womb cancer and cant survive much longer. She gets depressed knowing the fact. The doctor asks her to tell her ex-husband about it. So she tells Aman. It makes Aman so sad that he makes a decision to stay back with Maya and his kids. He breaks up his relationship with Sreya.

The kids are very happy for having a complete family. They think that their happiness will stay forever until one day by the suggestion from the doctor, Maya tells the truth to the kids that she suffers cancer. They get shocked, especially Alya. She starts doing a silly thing such as going to crazy party as a running away of her fear of loss. At that time, Sreya comes to fulfill her promise. She brings Anjali the crown and some presents for Ankush and Alya. By her help, Maya can go to the party to pick up Alya home. Alya also helps Maya to explain Aman what has happened by taking all guilt to herself. At that time Maya starts to realize that Sreya isn’t as bad as she thought. She, finally decides to meet Sreya and tells Sreya all the real thing, about the cancer. She asks Sreya to stay with her so that she can learn the kids character.

Sreya agrees and lives with Maya and family. It isn’t very difficult for her to steal the kids’ heart. Even the coolest Alya can finally open her heart to Sreya. Yet, seeing her kids become so close to Sreya, Maya gets envious. She feels like she’s been ignored and replaced by Sreya in her kids’ heart. It explodes when Sreya makes peanut cake not knowing that Anjali is allergic of peanut. They argue and Sreya chooses to end it up coz she cant stand facing Maya.

As she goes out, Aman comes to argue Maya for what she’s done. Maya who isn’t strong enough due to the cancer faints and is brought to the hospital. She’ getting weaker and it makes her realize that she has no opportunity to look after her kids nor accompanying them on their wedding. Feeling sorry for her fault, Maya decides to call Sreya, asking her for being a step mom for her kids. She gives the trust of looking after her kids to her. She receives Sreya as the part of the family and says ‘I had them yesterday but you’ll have them tomorrow’.

Some years later, the kids have grown up.. Aleya gets married and Sreya walks accompanying her to the wedding... the kids have a step mom that loves them so much but never forgets their mom... and the story ends..

Family story; the movie is very natural in presenting a family life. How they interact, how they live their life, how they fight for a little thing yet love still binds them all, it all makes you miss your childhood.
The kids are amazing, especially little Anjali..I like the scene when Maya wants to reveal the secret about her cancer to the kids and Anjali thinks that she got fever because of playing water too much. Her face is so cute.. I want to have a daughter like her.. hehehe

Kajol looks so mother-like and very natural. She is the perfect mom. She looks more beautiful when she’s getting older-- I guess –especially her beautiful eyes.. I love them the most! I consider myself being a mom like her later though sometimes I think that I might be kinda overprotected..

Weaknesses;

There’s no clear explanation about the reason they divorce. Maya just explained to her eldest daughter that adult’s relationship is too complicated. Sometimes it works but sometimes it fails, and perhaps she is the one who fails. Yet, still there’s no more explanation about the problem. I mean if you decide to divorce your husband though you know exactly that you love him, there must be a very crucial reason that influences you in making such decision, not merely something like Maya explains.
